Louise and Clive approached Peter with a access and security problem. The private road along the green in front of their farm house was being used by the general public to turn their vehicles around. It also posed a security threat as cars were being left on this private road creating difficulties for the house and the property owners own vehicles.
The horse shoe shaped drive had a set of original gates at one end, the entry at the other end was open to the public. The brief was to fit gates at the drives open end to better control access. The new gates needed to be sympathetic to the existing gates and qualify for listed building consent.
Strong and simple farm gates were designed by Peter with a heavy hasp and staple to be locked with an old rudimentary padlock. Installed alongside the council chain link fence the area now has a private feel and unauthorised vehicles no longer have easy access and the owners cars are safe. The gates are manufactured from solid bar passing through all horizontals . The fabricated steel posts are extremely heavy imparting a sense of age and strength to the traditional ironwork. Galvanised, built to last and with anti-theft fixings; the Church Farm Gates will be there for generations to come.
"The gates look great and we couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you once again for a great job."Louise and Clive.
