Sliding gates often appear industrial and are usually not suited to the period house. The posts required to hold the gate vertical and the toothed rack, rollers and track on the floor are all unavoidable and it requires care to make them attractive.
These gates have a horizontal plate at the base to conceal the toothed rack and the posts are specially designed to be a feature of the installation. The rollers fit into a channelled section that sits behind the top horizontal and this too is carefully positioned to be a success.
The gates are automated with a Came BX 78 sliding gate kit which can roll a gate weighing up to 750kg. A matching pedestrian gate completed the installation.
