The following project shows a pair of gates more than 200 years old that required extra height and an additional vertical section to ensure they correctly occupy the space between the pillars.The gates were raised by 500 mm and widened by 300 mm. The top bar is now in line with the garden wall and the gates remain original in appearance.The fixed panels were moved further into the stone and brick pillars.
