Crosby Hall Gates

Crosby Hall was built in 1609 and has been the home of the Blundell family since the Middle Ages. The family wanted to recreate the original gateway designed by the architect Robert Lugar and constructed in the early 19th Century.

The image above shows a photomontage of the design to be installed between existing stone pillars with lions rampant. The images below show the actual gate in situ.

The entrance proportions had considerable height as they were designed for horse-drawn carriages and so gave me the opportunity to create unusually tall, elegant gates.

It was a real pleasure to work on the Crosby Hall commision and recreate the former stunning entranceway.
