Levens Hall Gates

Dating back to the 1590's, Levens Hall is one of Cumbria's finest stately

homes. It is famous for its historic Topiary Garden laid out in 1694.

The house contains fine furniture, paintings and one of the best examples

of Spanish leather wall coverings, as well as the earliest English patchwork,

    pictures and miniatures.

Gates used to hang from the massive
4m high stone pillars at the house entrance  but had long since been removed or  perhaps collapsed with age. So some  smaller carriage drive gates were used as a  starting point for the design of the new  main gates.

Now installed and automated, the Levens  Hall gates provide security to the house  and are in keeping with the tradition of the  property.
