Mason Developments Railing Project.

"I felt that I did’t want typical steelwork around my building knowing that all my local suppliers seem to make exactly the same designs- totally inadequate for my purposes. I wanted to emulate victorian cast ironwork with the correct size and proprtions.
Now that the installation is complete the railings are very substantial, are a great design and look like they belong in their surroundings. I can’t imagine anything else in front of my building.

I would recommend Peter and his team to other builders who are looking for ironwork that has character , weight, proportion and quality. This is backed up by good sketches and creative work before manufacture. The result is clearly far superior than the run of the mill railings you see everywhere else."

Broxton Hall Gates - ws-10339

"Thank you for the service provided to replace the wrought iron gates at the hall. As you will recall the original gates that originated in France were stolen.

Given the very limited photography we had of the originals we are very pleased with the design and manufacture you provided – the gates are an excellent replacement and replicate the originals almost exactly. We were surprised with the final quality of the wrought iron work, it is exemplary. Similarly the new post, fixture and fittings are of a design and quality that is in keeping with the hall and its grounds. The hinge design will also prevent their silent removal.

Finally please thank your staff that installed the gates, given their size and the fact the entrance had to remain in full operation they met the challenge admirably. You have a good professional team.

Once again thank you and I have no objection to this letter being quoted as a referral."

Gothic Victorian ‘Sligo Gates’ - ws -10084

"I finally attach some photos of your lovely gates – and details of our piers, which have Merstham stone inset in panels. The nameplates are now delivered but not installed – you can see the cavities for them.

We built up round the boxes with tarmac and I painted the box lids black. This stops muck accumulating round them, especially as drive has a downwards slope.

The gates have had lots of admiring glances and I have a lead from my neighbour for someone in Banstaed who would like an identical pair.

The gates are exceptional quality and really look like hand worked wrought iron – they really are a notch above everything else I’ve looked at and I’m so pleased that I’ve finally found something suitable to go on the drive of a listed building (and in a Conservation area) that is appropriate and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg."

Specialist Wrought Garden Furniture and Architectural's

"Peter and his team have designed and installed a fantastic range of iron features to complement my new garden landscaping.

Two matching seats, sited at our feature lily pool, and a magnificent purpose built tree seat for our 60 year old walnut tree, have given the garden a real presence.

However, the “pièce de résistance” is our new Bandstand.  This, all metal centrepiece replaced an old wooden structure, which had seen better days.  Now, the new Bandstand is the highlight of our garden, giving wonderful, elevated views of the house and neighbouring fields.
The quality of the workmanship is first class and the delivery and installation were both timely and on budget.  Peter’s work cannot be bettered in the UK."

La Pommeraie Gates

"I was very demanding in my requirements and Peter listened with great patience. I wanted something special - custom built gates that looked 100 years old with a 'turn of the century' feel that would fit perfectly into their environment. This was achieved, with breathtaking craftsmanship that didn't break the bank."

Gates with overthrow for privately owned castle.

‘I must say that I have enjoyed the whole process and feel that between you, me, Hai and the masons we have put together something worthy of the situation. I attach a number of photos of the gates, I think they look fantastic. The bits that work particularly well are the dog bars, the ovals and crosses. The scale is perfect.’

Ethie Castle.

“We are absolutely delighted with the gates, which have attracted praise from far and wide. There is no doubt that they have transformed this part of the garden and have become a statement in their own right. I have mentioned your name to a number of interested people and I would hope that in due course, someone from our area will place some work with you!”

Ethie Castle Gates

Summerhouse.

"Thank you for supplying the fabulous Summerhouse. We love the period detail and the craftsmanship, but most of all the fact that it 'just looks right'. It's always the first thing new visitors comment on, and they all assume it's antique. Since it is located close to the house, a Victorian Manor, we had been searching for a long time for something that would complement the surroundings. All other designs just looked fake - material sections too uniform, details too simplistic, and proportions scaled down for modern gardens. Then we came across your website. At first we couldn't believe you could still buy such wonderful designs these days, and then were anxious we wouldn't be able to afford such quality. Thankfully we were wrong on both counts.

Throughout the process we were made to feel we were truly commissioning a bespoke solution and your design suggestions were always spot on - you clearly have a deep understanding of the underlying design principles. And I'm also pleased to say that your customer service matches up to the same high standards as your design. Communication was excellent, with photos from Vietnam of progress during the build, and the installation was completed by your team in a day.

We look forward to building our collection of Peter Weldon originals over time (the tree seat is also great). But we do have just one reservation in recommending you...you are a secret we'd like to keep to ourselves!"

Regards
Phil

Courtyard Railings for a grade II listed Queen Anne House.

Peter Weldon’s company designed and manufactured new courtyard railings for a grade II listed Queen Anne house.

The design was artistic and in keeping with the house, and needed little modification. When they came the railings and gate were well constructed in good solid ironwork. Minor inconsistencies in the manufacture emphasised the ‘hand-made’ look.

Peter and his men installed the new railings and were prepared to make any adjustments to the installation to make sure that it was absolutely right.

I have no hesitation in recommending Peter Weldon’s ironwork for attractive and apt design, for well-made and strong ironwork, and for conscientious installation.

‘Libbys Gates’ –  ws-10296

"I found the whole process fascinating, from the design stage, through to drawing and then finally delivery and installation.
Building the gates on site was particularly exciting, they look totally different when they are delivered flat on the back of a truck, and then as they are lifted upright the whole effect takes shape.
The impact on my house is quite dramatic. The space has changed, the garden has become private and we feel secure. I believe that I have the finest gates in the area."

Door Grille in steel with copper leaves

"Peter measured up the porch at my house for decorative gates in front of the door. He then provided a number of design options for me to choose, carefully following my brief. After paying my deposit the gates arrived four months later.
They fitted perfectly, look great and do exactly what they are meant to do. I would recommend Peter and his team to other customers who require high quality design-led ironwork individually made to their needs."
